Have you ever bought a lotto ticket? Rarely do I buy lotto tickets or go to palm readers yet, last Thursday I did both and was greatly gifted!

Before last Thursday, my palm was read thirty years ago upon a street in India by a loin-clothed, stick of a man. Even back then I had NOT wanted my palm read. That frail, ancient palm reader sitting cross-legged upon the sidewalk waved my excited friends and their money away, pointed a skeletal finger at me, and said, “I read her palm for free.”

Next moment I found myself sitting upon a baking street in India my palm being traced by a gnarled, brown finger. That wizened fortune teller predicted five shocking things to transpire in my life…all of which came to pass over the next two decades.

So, yesterday at our local farmer’s market I was intrigued by the new addition of a palm reader but did NOT want my palm read. In fact, I felt compelled to tell him the story of my palm reader from India explaining why I would NOT have my palm read. I know some people can see more than I want to know. Would you believe he thought I said, “I want my palm read?” and next thing I knew I was having my palm read.

I did receive several gifts from him. He gave me a push to listen more closely to my inner knowing (do less thinking) and take action on that knowing. Also, he said, “Buy a lotto ticket TODAY.”

I bought the 50 million dollar lotto ticket and was greatly gifted. Not necessarily by winning the lotto (that is yet to be revealed) but by pondering what I would do or change if I won the lotto. (And too, I was gifted with the inspiration for this article!)

I have been designing a new business card in my mind’s eye for awhile. I love the tag-line that came to me “Express Your God-ness and Gifts!” yet have felt a certain reluctance to use this for my business tag-line. Thoughts like, “The business world will run from, by offended by, the ‘God-ness’ word.” Then it hit me.

If I won the $50 million would I worry what others thought about my business card? No. I would feel free to write whatever inspired ME upon my business cards. I would be free of “What will THEY think?”(which contaminates our creativity, truth and causes procrastination).

I felt relief! Freedom! It struck me, why not act as though we already have $50 million in the bank NOW! To further revel in my ‘lotto winning’ mentality I have not yet checked my lotto tickets.

Awakening this morning I was gifted again. I recalled the lovely seafood dinner my husband and I, and a close friend enjoyed atop the Rise last night. The Rise is a world class golf course here overlooking our gorgeous Okanagan Valley, which cradles orchards, vineyards and a 75 mile long lake.

I felt a rush of deep gratitude this morning for my beloved friend, my husband, the sweeping view we had of this beautiful valley we call home, the world class resort we visited the night before. I was steeped by the goodness everywhere, everyday filling my life. Then, I heard my small, still voice whisper, “You’ve already won the lotto.”

My life, what I have, who I am; all, are part of many winnings, gifts, the big bonanza! My cup runneth over… regardless of what lotto numbers may be revealed tomorrow.

Dear reader, let me share my lotto winnings with you. What would you do or change or feel if you won the lotto? Begin it now… take some small step toward feeling or doing that now. And too, revel in the fact that the gift of this precious life makes us all big time winners.
