Before outlining how we can work together, there's something important for you to know about me. My consulting business is founded upon my life-time of self-employment and my passion for living life on my own terms.

After feeling stifled and trapped within the school system and the early jobs of my youth I vowed to live life on MY terms, never again to be boxed by mind-numbing work and rules. This passion for living life on my own terms has led me into a life of self-employment, adventure and work I have enjoyed.

In my late teens - early twenties, I owned and drove my own taxi in Canada's Artic; was one of the first women hired as a labourer on a large union building site; world traveled 36 countries; for ten years I owned two women's retail boutiques in Canada's beautiful Okanagan Valley; was a freelance columnist for twelve years; and over the past fifteen years have led over 3000 people through my 'Leadership' and 'Livelihood' workshops.

I am passionate about working at what I love to do and belief it is possible for anyone to create work they too, would love to do. (Even if a person cannot seem to make a living doing what they love - they still must live and express this love!) This passion and belief, coupled with my entrepreneurial background, is the foundation of my consulting, coaching and facilitation work.

You don't have to axe your job today, risk your families' security and then try to create something new from this state! (As Barbara Sher says, this is like burning all your old clothes before going shopping for new ones at the mall!) Remember the tortoise and the hare - and who won the race?

After leaving my two women's retail stores behind I did all kinds of miscellaneous work to pay the bills all-the-while building my workshop business on the side. Within two years my workshop business was supporting myself and my son, and has now grown and morphed into Your Lifework Enterprises. You can grow the work you'd love to do while maintaining your paycheck for awhile.

Another way to minimize the risk of trying to replace the paycheck is to NOT think paycheck. When you and I work together, we will explore what you love to do and then, brainstorm possibilities for creating income other than seeking another job/paycheck.

For example we will work with the idea of generating incomes, versus trying to get another job with a single salary. We will work with the idea of creating profit centers and multiple income streams so beautifully outlined by author, Barbara Winter, in "Making a Living Without a Job."

If you need to make $50,000. a year to live it is easier to come up with four profit centers each bringing in $250. per week than trying to come up with one $50,000 revenue-creating idea. Being willing to cut-back on expenses initially, helps make transitioning easier too.

If you have worked a job all your life you'll need to learn this type of entrepreneurial thinking. Being willing to think entrepreneurially, does not mean you have to re-mortgage the house, or dig into debt.

I have lived this entrepreneurial path most of my life and started my consulting/workshop business from a closet in a tiny apartment over fifteen years ago. It is possible to launch your dreams from humble beginnings – and well worth the effort!

You start with your LIFE. Putting your life first and work second has been the foundation of my lifework practice for the past fifteen years.

Sadly, I have seen many clients who've spent a life-time putting work first and now are forced into career change because of 'burn-out' or "broken bodies."

The price of putting work before our life is too high! We risk our health, precious relationships, and dreams due to lack of time and energy to invest in them after long days, commutes, excessive pressures or toxic environments.

It is also paramount to begin with your LIFE to find the work you would love to do because what you love is imbedded within your life.

Being very curious about who you are; what you love and value; and the life you want to live - is the path to finding one's passion or calling. This also, becomes your compass keeping you on course as you explore possible ideas for income.

Supposing you and I work together, we would start with the LIFE you want to live. This would be our compass setting as we brainstormed for income streams you might create from those loves. Our work together is really about creating the LIFE AND WORK you'd love to live.

At the end of the first session you will have more insights, information and inspiration around work you would love to do and how to go about creating income from that. For some people one session works very well and they go to work building their dreams. At this point it is up to you whether you think you have enough motivation and support to work solely on your own.
