Live Your Today with Passion -
No Matter What!

by Steve

Alive on a Stormy Day

Alive on a Stormy Day

Live your life today with passion - no matter what! This statement is a big part of the recipe of life. There's always going to be stuff coming. Sorrow, loss, grief, joy... life is a cornucopia.

Almost everywhere people feed the discontent of your life; in movies, commercials, slick magazines etc.. It is like society programs people to be weak. Of course passion comes from with in yet, we need to build each other rather than destroy.

It is a challenge to accept your life now - just as it is. The "if onlys" are strong. "If only I had more stimulating, fulfilling work; if only I had more money in my bank account; if only I was more assertive; if only I could move forward" you fill in the blank. What I offer in this forum is a tip that works for me most of the time.

Tip: How can you be happy NOW even though the discontent that is hard wired in us all is right there within you?

Answer: Live in the moment fully. This is it.

For example, let me explain.

Today my wife and I walked to the store. The weather was windy, the sky was filled with dark clouds - a storm was approaching. Yet, the moment was invigorating, refreshing and totally NOW. My mind was no where else. I felt so alive.

Someone once wrote: "Have a love affair with life."

What do you say about that?

Yes! Have a Love Affair with Life!
by: Anonymous

Hi Steve;
Thank you for your thoughtful comments about Living Your Passion Today. Yes! We can have a love affair with life if we choose to live in the present moment. Otherwise, as you so clearly wrote, we are dragged here and there by our mind's endless, restless discontent well-fed by society's siren song.. "Buy! Spend! You are not enough! You do not have enough! Only more and more will make you happy!"

Who really wants to live that way? I don't. We can live our passion in this moment. We don't have to wait for a flash of intuitive light. We can sit and breathe and honor all the ways we express and live our passion every day.

Upon arising every morning I sit at my desk and write my three Morning Pages. Even when I am traveling I make an effort to write those three pages. I love that time. Often I draw closer to, and more fully understand myself, my world and my God. Life's hardships are reshaped and rewritten within these pages. My best inspirations for articles spring from these pages. This one of the ways I love to express my passion!

What dear reader, can you tell us about finding or expressing your passion?

Teresa
