Toxins in the human body are an ever growing health concern. Likewise the toxic load upon our planet is also of grave concern. As we aspire toward becoming more spiritual beings let us take steps to reduce our bodies' and planet's toxic load. By simply living in today’s world we accumulate toxins in the human body.
Let us not knowingly buy, use, eat and support this toxic trade that affects all living things. Documentaries inform us of cancer growing in beluga whales; killer whale populations suffering from reproductive toxins; and polar bears dying of starvation as pollution continues to fuel global warming - to name but a few deeply concerning issues.
Yet, there are powerful ways you and I can make a difference. I gave a speech at my Toastmasters Club and sent a letter to my city council advocating the ban of
Cosmetic Pesticides
Sale and Use in our city (click to read the article).
Help save our Canada's wild salmon being decimated by lice from fish farms. Even now as I write this Norway is promoting British Columbia's coast as an ideal place for more fish farms. Eleven million Fraser River salmon have vanished. You can make a difference by reading the science and
by adopting a fry.
We can sign petitions which are then sent to our politicians. In Canada you can help by
signing petitions at the Nature Canda site.
Or support many causes concerning the well-being of people, wildlife and our precious planet through
signing petitions at The Petition Site.
"We are conducting a vast toxicological experiment in which our children and our children's children are the experimental subjects."
- Dr. Herbert Needleman recipient of the Heinz Award in the Environment for his extraordinary contributions to the understanding and prevention of childhood lead poisoning.
Perhaps the most unsettling documentary I recently saw documented how reproductive toxins were compromising our human ability to reproduce. “The Disappearing Male” is a documentary about one of the most important, and least publicized, issues facing the human species: the toxic threat to the male reproductive system.
Toxins in the human body are threatening our survival. To view the
“Disappearing Male” documentary click here.
Educate ourselves about hazardous ingredients in personal care, cosmetics and home cleaning products… Read labels on everything you buy and refuse to have known toxins in your home. Buy products made with non-toxic ingredients (beware green-washing wherein things our touted as ‘natural’ yet have many toxic ingredients). “The Guide to Less Toxic Products” is a free site developed by the Environmental Health Association of Nova Scotia.
There is a dictionary of toxic ingredients on this site that is most helpful in determining what to avoid. Armed with this knowledge we can shop for products that will eliminate or minimize toxins in our home, toxins in cosmetics and toxins in the human body.
Let’s educate ourselves about the ugly side of the beauty industry and say, “NO!" to toxins in cosmetics. Have you read the ingredients on your personal care products including make-up, toothpaste, perfumes, shampoos, deodorants, and lotions?
Most contain dangerous hormone disrupting chemicals, estrogen mimicking hormones and known carcinogens including ingredients toxic to the human body such as: sodium laureth sulfate, parabens, propylene glycol, fragrance, colour to name but a few. These are dangerous toxins in the human body.
“Chemicals have replaced bacteria and viruses as the main threat to health. The diseases we are beginning to see as the major causes of death in the latter part of (the 1900's) and into the 21st century are diseases of chemical origin.”
- Dr. Dick Irwin, Toxicologist, Texas A&M University
These toxins in our cosmetics and personal care products and homes in turn become toxins in our human bodies. They are not good for you, your family or the planet! Yet, stressing and scaring ourselves is NOT Helpful. Along with educating ourselves and signing petitions we can make aware choices promoting our health and the health of our planet.
Let us say, "No!" and refuse to support companies ruthlessly dumping toxins in the human body and our precious planet. Let us make a difference in our lives and the life of our planet. We have the power.
Let us all take a stand against the soul-less greed of many big corporations that seem oblivious to their part in the growing number of toxins in the human body and the world. As in Canada’s Documentary “The Corporation,” (winner of 26 International Awards; and 10 Audience Choice Awards) we see many big industries have a pathology of profits over people.
Just recently I was speaking with a manager of an organic fruit consortium in Cawston, B.C. and he said organic farming is being compromised by pressure exerted from Monsanto, a mammoth chemical producer. Check out this link to the
Organic Consumers Organization to learn more
If you research Monsanto likely you too will take the next step and send a fax joining the
“Millions Against Monsanto.”
In my article called "Benefits of a Healthy Diet" you can read how eating locally grown, organic produce is a another way we can reduce toxins in the human body and in our world.
In overwhelm one might think, “There is little I can do,” but the greatest change begins with one person’s actions. What if we all made personal and planetary health our lifework?
“First, is the dangers of futility; the belief there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world’s ills – against misery and ignorance, injustice and violence. Yet many of the world’s great movements, of thought and action, have flowed from the work of a single man.”
- Senator Robert F. Kennedy (June 6, 1966)
We vote every day with every dollar we spend. Every dollar we spend is a vote for the practices of the company our dollar supports. Are we going to support corporations who put profits before people… profits before the planet? Corporations who willing put ingredients into their products that are toxic to the human body and the planet?
We CAN make a difference in this world by choosing carefully how we spend every dollar. Let us make it our lifework to vote for the health of our families and the planet with each dollar we spend!

TERESA’S LIFEWORK MENTORING
The purpose of my mentoring program is to help you return to your True Self - your Inner Guidance - so as to live from that place. Only when we are connected to our True Self (God, Higher Power, Inner Guidance, or however you choose to define this) can we live our life authentically and fully express our gifts.
I cannot supply your answers, (no one can) nor can I give you spiritual connection. What I can do is share practices with you that have brought me closer to my True Self, my mission and my passion. I have found that most of us simply need someone who can reflect our “holy music” back to us and encourage us to follow our True Self. It is so easy to overlook our own ‘God-ness.’
I reflect your inner wisdom back to you which in turn, helps you to hear, define, believe in, and follow your Inner Guidance. The more we listen to and follow our inner guidance the more clearly we hear the voice of our True, Authentic Self.
